GUIDELINES
In order to apply to Al Bustan Festival Orchestra Academy, all applicants must, fill the application form with all required information; request a live audition time slot. Or record and upload a video audition, and submit the application.
AUDITION PERIOD
The audition period begins at 12:00am EST September 20, 2018 and ends at 11:59pm EST November 29, 2018.
Live auditions will take place at Hotel Al Bustan, Beit Meri, Lebanon on December 5 and 6, 2018.
The applicants in the online video audition or live auditions should be over the age of 18 on the date of the audition.
The applicants shall provide a proof of age through their application form.
APPLICATION FEE
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid through your application form upon submission of your application.
Your application is not considered complete until the fee has been received.
- $75 non-refundable application fee applies for live audition
- $50 non-refundable application fee applies for video audition
VIDEO AUDITION GUIDELINES
The reviewers expect high quality video recordings that are the best possible representation of an applicant’s technical ability, tone quality and musicianship.
Before making your video recording, test the audio levels to make sure that there is no distortion to the sound during the loudest passage of your piece, also be sure that the softest dynamics can be heard.
Other than starting and stopping your camera/recording device, no editing of the audio or video is permitted. Recorded auditions showing evidence of any unnecessary cuts, splicing, manipulation of pitch or any other alternation will not be accepted.
Video Audition Requirements
- State your name at the beginning of the video
- Repertoire should be recorded in one time-sequence with no piano accompaniment
- Audio-only recordings will not be accepted.
- Videos should have been recorded in 2018.
- File-type supported. MPEG, MPG, MP4, OGG, MOV, AVI, WMV, M4V, VOB, FLV

NOTES ABOUT LIVE AUDITIONS
- Live auditions applicants must fill their application form by the appointed deadline to be eligible to audition.
- Your Specific audition time will be assigned to you when you submit your application and request is processed, you will be notified of your audition time by email.
- Applicants must be available on December 5 and 6, 2018 for live auditions at Hotel Al Bustan, Beit Meri.
- Plan to be available for a minimum of eight hours for your audition, interview and examinations.
- Live auditions typically take 20-30 minutes.
- The audition day will begin at 9am and end at about 5pm.
- Timpani, Percussion and Harp applicants must submit a Video Audition.
